Bigger or smaller

Text can be made bigger or smaller using HTML, although it is recommended that this effect be achieved through Cascading Stylesheets. The examples below illustrate how this effect can be achieved:

This is big text whereas
This is small text

You can also use more than one of the elements combined to produce text that is even bigger or smaller still. Of course, it would make little or no sense at all to use both the big and small elements together on the same piece of text!

In the next tutorial we will show you how to use different levels of headings to give your pages more meaning and how proper use of the different levels of headings can improve your search ranking in the leading search engines.
